Indian Government launched a new mobile application named Aarogya Setu which helps to track Coronavirus infected people by using all India medical databases.
And also app alert whenever you reach near to COVID-19 infected people. They use Bluetooth and GPS to track and inform you about that infected person.
How does the application work?
After installing the app you need to set the desired language. Currently, the app supports 11 Indian languages.
And then you need to enter the Mobile Number, Name, Age, Profession and International travel details. Based on your input and app uses Bluetooth and GPS to suggest whether you are in a safe position or not.
Aarogya setu app also has a chatbot feature that solves some basic queries and If they find any symptoms from your chatbot input they will inform health authorities. Then health care authorities take care of the infected person.
App also gives some useful tips to protect yourself from Coronavirus pandemic attacks.
Some privacy concerned people think that app asks personal data and also automatically tracks location. The government confirmed that data is end-to-end encrypted which protects user data from theft.
When writing this article more than 1 crore people already installed it on their Android phone and this figure will increase in the future. I don’t know how many installs on iPhone.

Some state governments also create their own app to track COVID-19 infected persons. You can install those state-specific applications by contacting state authorities or search on Google to get the app play store link.
Before launching the current app the beta version of the app is named CoWIN-20. The application is developed by the National Informatics Center(NIC) and which comes under the Ministry of Electronics and Information technology.
